I have read about this RFID lock from Popular Science magazine. It sounds great until I checked out the spec in the website: the encryption is only 40-bit, which is not too secured in today’s computing power. Nevertheless, this seems to be a good alternative to the keyed entry.

Which Popular Science mag did you read it from?
I have the Mykey 2300 installed at my house. Its convenient, I wouldnt say its like the end all answer to a burglar but it does beat having to worry bout somebody picking my lock the traditional way. I’ve seen it on http://www.thinkgeek.com as well. The manufacturer also makes the mykey 4000r, I googled it and only seen it on http://www.cydus-solutions.com

Hugh,
I have read it from the paper version of “Popular Science”. I do not keep copies of my magazines so I cannot tell you which issue.
